In-Situ Formation Of Metal-Molybdate Catalysts (Technology #: 040699-02)

Description:
The method of the present invention involves the in situ formation of metal-molybdate catalyst particles active for methanol oxidation to formaldehyde, with iron as an example, the catalyst is made by mixing particulate forms of Fe.sub.2 O.sub.3 and MoO.sub.3 which form an active Fe.sub.2 (MoO.sub.4).sub.3 /MoO.sub.3 component inside the reactor during methanol oxidation.
